iPhone 4 vs HTC Desire vs Dell Streak vs Palm Pre Plus
iPhone 4
The iPhone 4 comes with a revamped OS promising multitasking and a new 5-megapixel camera with an LED photo light and HD video shooting capabilities. The iPhone 4's display is enhanced by what Apple is calling Retina Display, which allows for a sharper display despite the 3.5-inch glass screen not being an AMOLED. The iPhone 4 features protective glass on the front and back and has a stainless steel trim around the edges, which ingeniously incorporates the phone's aerial as well as looking a bit swish.
HTC Desire
The HTC Desire has been out for a few months now, but is still a winner in our books. It has that super rich 3.7-inch AMOLED display, HTC Sense overlay and access to an ever-increasing range of apps. The Android Market can't quite compete with Apple's App Store but there's still some great stuff to be found there. With an update to Android 2.2/Froyo on the cards, the HTC Desire is only going to get better and, of course, Android devices have been able to multitask for ages now...
Dell Streak
Sitting somewhere between a phone and an iPad, the Dell Streak comes with a massive 5-inch screen which dwarfs that of anything else on offer here. Even the HTC Desire's 3.7-inch AMOLED looks weedy in comparison. That said, the Dell Streak will only come with Android 1.6 upon release. Although an update to Android 2.2 has been promised, it'll be a while before you'll be able to enjoy some of Android's finer features on the Dell Streak. Like the iPhone 4, the Dell Streak's screen is covered by a layer of protective glass, but unlike the iPhone 4 it doesn't have a glass-coated back.
Palm Pre Plus
Despite being announced ages ago, the Palm Pre Plus has only been recently released. The Pre Plus has a black belt in multitasking, giving the Desire and the Streak a run for their money and probably able to stand toe-to-toe with the iPhone 4 in this department too. The WebOS interface is super easy to use and the touchscreen is one of the nicest we've seen on a mobile. One area that the Palm Pre Plus can't touch the others handsets in is apps. The WebOS app store can't compete with the Android Market for choice, let alone the Apple App Store.

When I sent in my original HTC phone for warranty repairs, only the touch screen was defective. Its USB port was still working
which was why HTC was able to charge it as well in order for them to troubleshoot the touch screen issue. However, HTC claimed that its USB port was not working, and wanted to charge me $198. It looks like HTC was just looking for ways to cover the warranty repairs. Do not buy HTC phones if you do not want defective products and services.
